Update

So I had an eventful day at the doctor's yesterday. I went for my NST in the morning like usual and Lily cooperated and I got to leave just after being monitored for 30 minutes. Then I had to drive back there in the afternoon for my regular appointment with my doctor and I had an ultrasound scheduled for 20 mins after my appointment. So I was a little antsy to make sure I made that appointment. Anyway, my blood pressure was slightly higher than it has been and my doctor made me go to the lab to get blood work done to make sure my body isn't freaking out. And I told him about my ultrasound and he said to still go to the lab first, then go to my ultrasound then go to labor and delivery to be monitored for an hour. If my blood pressure was still high or they thought that something was wrong with Lily they were going to admit me. So after spending too long in the lab (because the ladies were complaining about another worker taking too long for lunch) I made my way up to my ultrasound (20 minutes late). Everything went well there. Her heart rate was a little high but she calmed down really quickly. She is measuring right on, so no worries there. There was the possibility that because of the chronic hypertension that Lily would be small. But she's not. She's right where she is supposed to be. After the ultrasound, I went to Labor and Delivery and had to wait forever for them to come and get me hooked all up. After a while a doctor came in to check on me and my blood pressure was in the 170's. It freaked him out so he checked the cuff and it turns out the nurse put the cuff on wrong. So he fixed it and then it was back in the 140's where it has been for me the whole time. So after being on the monitor for an hour, they finally let me go home. At least I got some down time to read and watch a little tv. lol Still, it was a very eventful day. Oh and I asked the doctor about when they will induce me and he said they will most likely do it on the day that I hit 39 weeks. So we are looking at December 27th. That is if I don't have her on my own before then and if my body behaves.

Dang-good luck. At least you know that they are watching you very carefully and you know they will catch anything that might be risky. Do you want to "go on your own?"

Jenn

I do want to go on my own. I've never gone into labor on my own so I was kinda looking forward to it. And I am glad that they are watching me closely. It just gets nerve wracking. I guess a few years ago they had a few moms pass away from complications from delivery and now Tripler is super strict about policies.

Isn't spending all day at the doctor's office and hospital fun? Man, I was complaining just last week for having to spend an hour there for the gestational diabetes testing. I guess it could be way worse. I hope everything goes well for you.
