The Day Shop

When we got here we found out that there was a possibility that Justin could get on the day shop instead of being on shift work. He would work 3 days on and 3 days off. So there wouldn't be a real "regular" schedule and the only holidays he would get off are the ones that fall on his day off or when he requested leave. We were so not looking forward to that. Well on the day shop, he would work Monday through Friday, no changing shifts, no weird work days and he would get all holidays off. Well a few weeks ago he was told that he didn't get picked up for the day shop and that he would be on shift work. We were a little sad but we would just deal with it since we had no other choice. Then last Monday, Justin called me on his lunch break and said, "You'll never guess what happened to me today." He told me that he got picked up on the day shop. He had already begun training for doing shift work and he got picked up for the day shop! He said that his score on the listening test was so good that they picked him up for the day shop for it. So now he will be on a regular work schedule and we won't have to worry about stinking shifts while we are here. That should make the whole experience more enjoyable.

Isn't it nice when things actually go your way in the Air Force? They did have to change their mind first, how typical! I'm really glad things are working out for y'all, sometimes the military life is very hard on families! You look great Jen! I can't believe how big Nathan is getting! Amelia is such a pretty babe too!

Please overlook the exclamation mark overuse in my last comment. Apparently I really like that key.

McCain Family

Hey, I don't know if you remember me (Kristin McCain), but I was wondering if you have any advice for moving to San Angelo. I remember you wanted to live in a furnished apartment...how did that work out? We are looking to do the same and will be in San Angelo in July. Any advice would help. Thanks!

Jenn

Kristin, I remember you. How have you been? It was hard to find a furnished apartment in San Angelo. It was hard to find any apartments. We were lucky that Justin found one before we got there. It was cheaper for us to find a cheap 2 bedroom apartment and rent our furniture from Colortyme. We got a really good deal from them and it was well worth it. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I know I would have LOVEd to have someone to ask when I was going through all of that there.
